frequently asked questionS

Why should I choose Notarized by Maunica?

Monica is certified by the NNA (National Notary Association) and the LSS (Loan Signing System). My background has also been screened by the NNA. I am also E & O Insured and Bonded.

What are your hours of operation?

I am available 24/7, by appointment only.

Can you help me complete my documents during the appointment?

No, I am not an attorney, therefore I cannot explain, complete, or interpret the contents of any document. If you have questions on how to complete the document, please contact the individual and/or business that drafted and/or requested the document. If you are seeking legal advice, please contact a licensed attorney or your local bar association.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash and all major credit cards. (Absolutely No Checks). Businesses can be invoiced.

What is your fee for general notary services?

Per the North Carolina General Statutes 10B-31 and 10B118, the Maximum Notary Fee is $5 per signature (Acknowledgments, Jurats, and Verifications or Proofs), which is what I charge. There is a $5 charge per individual taking an Oath or Affirmation, without signature.

Electronic Notarizations will incur a $10 charge per signature for each notarial act listed above.

This is a mobile notary service and I will be traveling to you. Therefore, a base travel fee of $25 is required for all mobile/general notary services. Travel outside of Mecklenburg County will result in an additional travel fee (based on distance).

What is your cancellation policy for general notary services?

There is a $25 non-refundable travel fee that must be paid at the time of booking an appointment. If you fail to provide the proper identification or the signer/signers are not present, this will result in the cancellation of your appointment.

What forms of identification will I need?

Each signer must physically appear for the signing and is required by law to show a valid (unexpired) government issued ID.

Acceptable Forms of Identification: A valid Driver’s License or government issued photo ID, U.S. Passport, or a U.S. Military ID.

WHAT WE DO

As a Notary Public, I am an official of integrity, appointed by the NC Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.

A Notary Signing Agent (NSA) is a Notary who is specially trained to handle loan document signings. Title companies and signing services hire NSA’s to deliver loan documents to borrowers, oversee the signing, and promptly return the documents.

Monica has been appointed by the NC Department of Insurance as a licensed Life Insurance Producer. A Term Life Insurance policy is the simplest, purest form of life insurance.
